There are many types of cuisine available in the restaurants of Gràcia

Gràcia is one of those districts in Barcelona where walking through its streets becomes a complete gastronomic adventure. The culinary offering here is so varied and delicious, perfectly reflecting the diversity and open spirit of the city. We’re in love with it and we’re sure you’ll love it, too.

There are more than 300 restaurants in Gràcia that invite you to try and taste different flavours. You have the most classic ones, like those that sell traditional tapas and pinchos butifarra and fideuà – like “La Bicicleta”. Also, those that serve Mediterranean dishes with a lot of emphasis on seafood, fish and seasonal vegetables, like “Agreste de Fabio & Roser”.

Of course, other types of cuisine you can find are Italian – pasta and pizza – like in “El Greco”; Asian, like in “Fukuoka”; or our star, fusion cuisine, another of the gems you can find in the best restaurants of Gràcia, like in “Kiltro Restrobar”. And if you love Latin American flavours, Gràcia also has interesting options for you, like in “Haci” – Argentinian – or in “Puka” – Peruvian.

But we have to be completely honest, you can’t find everything in the Gràcia district. There are types of cuisine that are less common or almost non-existent. For example, African cuisine, which has less representation. Restaurants in Gràcia, Barcelona, focus more on Mediterranean, Asian and fusion offerings, with a strong leaning towards local and European.

The best restaurants in Gràcia

The restaurants in Gràcia are a reflection of the diversity and creativity that characterises the district. In it, you can find anything from taverns and cosy bistros to elegant gourmet places; there are options for each and every palate. Here is a selection of the best restaurants in Gràcia for different budgets.

Budget options

La Xula Tapería (€)

One of those places that meets the three “c’s”: cosy, cheap and cheerful. It’s a lovely place that offers traditional and authentic tapas of all kinds, such as croquettes, tortilla (Spanish Omelette), patatas bravas (potatoes with spicy sauce) and even steak tartar.

Raspall (€)

This is a no-frills place where they mainly serve sandwiches, simple dishes and combos of delicious tapas with a drink for next to nothing. That’s why they have a lot of local clientele.

La Vietnamita (€)

This restaurant manages to teleport you from Gràcia to Vietnam in just one bite. It offers a wide variety of healthy and affordable dishes such as pho, spring rolls, salads and its star dish: barbecue cauliflower.

Mid-range options: neither expensive nor cheap

La Singular (€€)

A district classic that offers modern Catalan cuisine with a creative touch. Its dishes are very elaborate and well presented. The atmosphere of the place is very cosy, ideal for a quiet dinner with your partner, friends or even family.

Nomo Gracia (€€)

This restaurant in Gràcia serves exquisite Japanese fusion food. Although what we like most about this place is the service; both the kitchen and the dining room are top-notch. It’s perfect for lovers of sushi and other typical Japanese dishes.

Gourmet and luxury options

Botafumeiro (€€€)

Botafumeiro is one of those restaurants in Gràcia that specialises in seafood, fish and the most common dishes of Spanish cuisine such as squid, rice dishes, paellas and even ‘pan con tomate’ (bread with tomato). And leave some room! Because the desserts are a real treat.

The decoration of the place is another point in its favour, you’ll feel like you’re eating or dining on the Titanic; it looks a lot like a period ship.

Con Gracia (€€€)

This restaurant offers a seasonal tasting menu, which changes according to the season of the year. A great way to take advantage of seasonal products and continue to surprise palates with new flavours and textures. And it doesn’t matter if you go in spring, summer or autumn: the food is always incredible and the presentation on the plate is impressive. The price of the tasting menu is around 80€ per person.

Moments (€€€)

Another great restaurant in Gràcia that has two Michelin stars and offers different tasting menus throughout the year. Its base is Catalan cuisine, but with a very modern differential touch that turns each bite into a gastronomic journey.

The menus are more expensive; in this case, they are around 190€ per head, but we assure you it’s well worth it.

Culinary experiences you can't miss in Gràcia

Gràcia has a lot to offer, if we talk about gastronomic experiences, too. You can participate in a tapas tour, an excellent way to try different dishes and get to know several restaurants in one night. You can also attend a tasting or a cooking class to learn how to prepare traditional Catalan dishes such as the famous paella or crema catalana. Some of the places you can look for workshops of this type are “Taller 24” or “Espai Egg” where you can learn from local chefs and then enjoy your creation.

Another experience related to gastronomy can be visiting the Mercat de la Llibertat, where you can find, buy and learn about fresh seasonal ingredients and at the same time get to know the Gràcia district in more depth. And keep an eye out, because many restaurants in Gràcia organise special events such as wine tastings, themed dinners or live music. Some of the restaurants that organise these events are ‘Viblioteca’, ‘Goliard’ or ‘La Rovira’. Fancy coming for a visit?
